Coronavirus (COVID-19) positive individuals will wear electronic bracelets while under quarantine as a measure against violating quarantine rules, Health Minister Fahrettin Koca said on Sept. 27.

There are two options regarding the bracelet and both options include alarming authorities if breaches take place, Koca told Habertürk.

According to Habertürk, the first option is an electronic bracelet that alerts authorities when the diagnosed individuals leave quarantine. The second model works with the same logic, it said, adding that it includes putting a device at home that tracks the individual.

The device in the second model will set some boundaries for the COVID-19 individual and will warn the users if they go out of it. It also alerts authorities if the individual goes farther away from the device, of which the location can't be changed.

Koca said that the ministry has been evaluating which system is the most beneficial one.

He also noted that the number of cases decreased by 38 percent in the past two weeks.
