Heartwarming video shows Turkish driver stopping tram to save turtle

A Turkish tram driver stopped his vehicle to save a turtle on the railway, melting the hearts of those who watched the incident.

A tram driver in Turkey's northwestern province of Kocaeli has stopped his vehicle to save a turtle on the railway. 

Serhat Topal, a municipal employee, saw a turtle when he was driving the tram and stopped the vehicle to save the animal, footage from a nearby security camera showed. 

Topal was seen picking up the turtle and putting it in a safe spot. 

Kocaeli Mayor Tahir Büyükakın thanked Topal on Twitter on June 13 for saving the animal.
