MHP closes down provincial organization in southeastern Diyarbakır

Turkey's far-right Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) has announced that it has closed down its provincial organization in Diyarbakır.

Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) vice chair Semih Yalçın announced that the party has closed down its organization in the southeastern province of Diyarbakır upon “necessity.”

“Our MHP Diyabakır provincial organization has been closed down upon necessity as per the relevant articles of our party regulations,” Yalçın said on Twitter on June 16. 

The MHP was able to receive a mere 1.34 percent of the votes in Diyarbakır in the 2018 parliamentary elections.
