Turkey-backed rebels have shot down a Syrian army helicopter in western Aleppo, the second such incident in three days.
The helicopter was making a sortie when it was shot down over Al Atarib in the province of Aleppo.
A military source told Sputnik that the helicopter crew was killed in the incident.
"One of our military helicopters was hit by an enemy missile in the western countryside of Aleppo…where armed terrorist organisations supported by Turkey are deployed, and this led to the fall of the helicopter and death of its crew," Syrian state news agency SANA cited a military source as saying.

On Feb. 11, the rebels downed a helicopter belonging to the Syrian army in Idlib’s Saraqib.
Meanwhile, the Syrian army announced on Feb. 14 that the Aleppo-Damascus Highway (M-5) has been fully secured for the first time in nine years.
