Turkish Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu has claimed that the Kurds hate the pro-Kurdish Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP).

In an angry speech in parliament on Dec. 8, Soylu targeted Turkey's third-largest party with numerous claims and started yelling at the deputies at one point.

"The Kurds hate you!" Soylu said, yelling the sentence three times.

The minister was infuriated due to protests against him in parliament, which saw HDP deputies putting up banners that read, "Minister of Crime."

Another banner read, "The minister associated with the mafia," which referred to the allegations on Soylu's links to shady figures.

Opposition deputies have been insistently asking the minister questions on Turkish mafia leader Sedat Peker's allegations, as well as his ties to Sezgin Baran Korkmaz, a shady business tycoon currently under arrest in Vienna over money laundering.

Although various lawmakers proved Peker's allegations right with documents, Soylu has been refraining from answering questions and chooses to yell or accuse the opposition of supporting terrorism instead.

The sessions in parliament that he attends are marked by protests against him.
