Turkish ministry warns of information theft via texts, calls claiming to be about COVID-19 vaccine
Turkey's Interior Ministry warned the public about fake communication via calls and texts claiming to be the Health Ministry inquiring about COVID-19 vaccine administrations. The ministry said that the public shouldn't give their personal information to anyone reaching out in this manner.

Turkey's Interior Minister warned citizens on Dec. 8 about potential fraudulent text messages urging them to sign up for COVID-19 vaccine administrations.
The ministry's cybersecurity agency SİBERAY also warned the public of phone calls they could receive, similarly asking them to sign up for vaccine administrations.
"Do not pay attention to 'vaccine appointment sign up' texts or phone calls that claim to be from the health ministry, asking for your personal information," SİBERAY said in a tweet.
The cybersecurity agency said that these attempts to obtain people's personal information are "fraud through phishing."
