Boğaziçi University's appointed rector Naci İnci has warned graduating students that if they undertake any kind of protest during the graduation ceremony, their graduate ID cards will be canceled and they will never be allowed to enter the university premises again.

İnci's warning came as the university is preparing to hold a graduation ceremony between July 4-6.

The incident came out as Boğaziçi TV, a platform that shares information about the university, shared the e-mail sent by the rector's office to the graduating students.

The e-mail, sent under the title of “A reminder about graduation ceremony order,” read: “Boğaziçi University campuses cannot be used as a demonstration area of various groups. Graduates that join such unauthorized demonstrations will have their graduate cards canceled and will be prevented from entering the campuses.”

When someone graduates from Boğaziçi University, they are given an ID card that proves they are a graduate of the university and allows them to enter the campus premises.
