Chinese tourist lost on hike in southern Turkey rescued with coronavirus precaution

A 30-year-old Chinese tourist who got lost on a hike in the southern province of Antalya was rescued by the local gendarmerie and the National Medical Rescue Team (UMKE). The officers wore masks and gloves while rescuing Jingyun Lan due to the coronavirus pandemic that's killed 59 people in Turkey as of March 25.

A Chinese tourist who got lost on a hike in the Mediterranean province of Antalya was rescued by the gendarmerie and the National Medical Rescue Team (UMKE) March 25.

Thirty-year-old Jingyun Lan got lost on the touristic Lycian Way that runs along the Mediterranean and Aegean coasts of Turkey.

After reaching out to local authorities, Lan was rescued by the gendarmerie and UMKE squads who wore personal protective equipment (masks and gloves) due to the current coronavirus outbreak.

The coronavirus outbreak has killed 59 and infected more than 2,000 people in Turkey as of March 25.

Though Lan was reported to be in good health, he was taken to the hospital for precautionary observation.
