Search warrants will be issued for individuals determined to be violating the required 14-day coronavirus quarantine upon returning from an international trip.
Those who escape the location they were assigned for their quarantine or treatment on suspicions of COVID-19 will also be sought with a warrant.
Any individual who engages in the aforementioned acts will be detained over “causing public hazard” and “spreading a contagious disease.” They will also be placed on a list of wanted or missing individuals.
The first example of such a warrant was issued for an individual from Istanbul’s Ümraniye district, whose search warrant declares they are “wanted for disseminating a contagious disease.”Prosecutors launch investigation into report on pilgrims defying self-quarantine
