Nearly 500 Turks die from COVID-19 abroad, evacuations continue
Turkey's Foreign Ministry announced that some 473 Turkish citizens have died from COVID-19 abroad. Meanwhile, the second round of evacuations have been underway, with nearly 30,000 citizens returning to Turkey.

Turkey's Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu noted that some 473 Turkish citizens have died from COVID-19 in another country as of May 5.
The bodies of more than 350 of the deceased citizens had been brought back to Turkey, Çavuşoğlu said in a press conference at the Foreign Ministry's COVID-19 Support and Coordination Center.
Meanwhile, the second round of evacuations for Turkish citizens is still underway, and nearly 30,000 persons have reportedly returned to Turkey since April 16.
"We returned almost 30,000 citizens to Turkey from 83 different countries, on 157 different flights," Çavuşoğlu said.
