A Turkish wedding in Berlin with more than a thousand guests caused about 70 people, including the newlyweds, to contract coronavirus, daily Hürriyet reported on Oct. 13.
Although Berlin regulations restrict large event guest lists to 50 people, the family gathered hundreds of guests to the Oct. 2 event, where no precautions were adhered, according to eye witnesses.
"There were at least 1,000 people in the room. Nobody followed rules at all. Not only did they not wear masks, but hygiene rules weren't followed either," said an infected guest identified as R.Y.
The guest said that their daughter was sick as well, along with the bride's mother, as it was impossible to maintain safe distances at the event.
