Turkey to resume flights to, from Russia despite soaring number of new cases

Turkey will be resuming flights to and from Russia as of July 15. The country is the latest addition to a list of 31 others that Ankara allows travels to.

Turkey will be resuming flights to and from Russia, Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Adil Karaismailoğlu said on July 15.

"We agreed to start flights with Russia as of today," the minister said.

Russia reported 6,422 new cases on July 15, and 156 patients died from the disease in the past 24 hours.

Noting that flights to some countries have been ongoing since June 10, the minister added that travels to 32 countries are now resuming.
