A 15-year-old shepherd named Azat Bağa was reportedly injured by nearby soldiers' gunfire in the southeast province of Van and is being treated in a nearby university hospital, Mesopotamia Agency reported on July 17.
A witness reportedly saw Bağa get shot by soldiers' fire in the early hours of the morning as he overlooked a herd of sheep he had taken out to graze.
The eyewitness notified Bağa's family, who then transported the teenager to a nearby hospital.
Bağa was shot in his back and is reportedly receiving intensive care.
