In face of Erdoğan's accusations, Kılıçdaroğlu says not in talks with IMF

Opposition Nation Alliance’s presidential candidate and Republican People’s Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu responded to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's accusations that he was conducting secret negotiations with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and meeting with loan sharks in London. 

Speaking to YetkinReport on April 19, Kılıçdaroğlu said: "We are not negotiating with the IMF. We have no intention of resorting to the IMF or loan sharks in our government. Erdoğan turned Turkey into a beggar. We will fix all this."

Kılıçdaroğlu continued as follows: "They think we are like them. They gave amnesty to drug barons and smugglers and opened the country’s border. They turned Turkey into a black money haven. Ships carrying drugs from South America are caught, mafias from all over the world clash on the streets of Turkey, and the government is merely a spectator. We will put an end to all this."

Kılıçdaroğlu in November 2022 conducted meetings with financial organizations in London in order to secure loans for Turkey. “We will bring clean, technological and environment-friendly money to Turkey with big investments. We will swiftly clean the economy of black money, mafia and gangs,” he had back then said.

Kılıçdaroğlu on April 6 said that they will bring millions of dollars currency inflow to the country when they come to the power and open Turkey to direct investment. As a response, Erdoğan attacked Kılıçdaroğlu by saying that he is a liar and he should state the source of this money.
