Intercity passenger bus crashes in western Turkey: 8 killed, 35 injured

A passenger bus crashed off a road and overturned in Turkey's western Afyonkarahisar district on Feb. 5, killing at least eight people and injuring 35 others.

Eight people were killed and some 35 were injured, with four in critical condition, after an intercity bus toppled off a highway in Turkey's western Afyonkarahisar district, Governor Kübra Güran Yiğitbaşı told state media.

The passenger bus was on a cross-country route from Diyarbakır in the east to the western resort city of Bodrum.

The driver lost control of the steering wheel in the high-altitude region, Yiğitbaşı was cited as saying by broadcaster TRT. She gave no further details.
