“Jahrein” nicknamed Twitch streamer and YouTuber Ahmet Sonuç on July 14 announced that main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu has filed a lawsuit against him, demanding to be paid 200,000 liras in compensation for non-pecuniary damages..

“Your democrat granddad Kılıçdaroğlu has been offended a lot by my remark of ‘roasted chickpea-head’ (leblebi in Turkish) and ‘one with dementia’ that I used to criticize him. He filed a lawsuit demanding to be paid 200,000 liras in compensation. What are you gonna do with this money? Are you gonna buy a new Airfryer?,” Sonuç said in a Twitter post.

“There is no war he has won. I'm sure he'll lose this too,” Sonuç added.

On various occasions, Kılıçdaroğlu accused President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of “being intolerable” against criticisms and jokes, arguing everyone could criticize him “freely” if he assumed power. He also vowed to abolish the Article 299 in the Turkish Penal Code that criminalizes “insulting” the President.
