Turkey no longer requires passports from Bulgarians for visits up to 90 days

Bulgarian citizens will no longer require a passport to visit Turkey, the Official Gazette announced. Bulgarians' length of stay in Turkey will be limited to a period of 90 days within 180 days.

Bulgarian tourists are now cleared to enter Turkey with their national ID cards only, with no need for passports, the Official Gazette said on July 27.

Bulgarians will be allowed to stay in Turkey for touristic or transit purposes for a maximum residence period of 90 days out of a 180-day period.

Some 944,366 Bulgarian citizens visited Turkey between January-May, according to the Culture and Tourism Ministry statistics.
