Seven Turkish citizens held by Haftar forces in Libya were saved by a joint operation of Turkish and Qatar intelligence forces.

Seven Turkish citizens held by Khalifa Haftar's forces in Libya were saved by a joint operation of Turkish and Qatari intelligence officials, state-run Anadolu Agency reported on Nov. 21. 

The seven citizens, İlker Sağlık, Doğan Kıssa, Nurettin Çalık, Halil Gözel, Ahmet Selvi, Hidayet Yaprak and Abdul Samet Akçay, were rescued following two months of captivity. 

The Turkish nationals work in the restaurant business, Anadolu Agency said.

Upon their arrival in Turkey, the seven citizens thanked President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and officials for their efforts. 

Turkey has deployed troops in Libya against Haftar's forces.
