Turkish mafia boss says those who hated him in the past now love him

Turkish mafia boss Sedat Peker has said that those who hated him in the past now love him. 

Speaking to a documentary that looks into Turkey's deep state, Peker looked back on his past threats to the opposition. 

"I wouldn't have done it now," Peker said. 

Following the June 5, 2015 elections, Peker organized rallies in support of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP). In one of those rallies in the Black Sea province of Rize, Peker threatened the opposition and said, "We will make their blood flow in streams." 

"We will bathe in your blood," he also said at the time. 

Now, however, Peker deemed his threat "maniacal." 

"That was needed to establish an atmosphere of fear. I became like the enemy of society. A certain segment hated me, but they love me now," he said. 

"When you isolate yourself from the incident, you can see how maniacal it is. Why would I want to bathe in their blood? I don't have such a fantasy. I love hygiene," Peker also said. 

Currently in the United Arab Emirates, Peker had been sharing one-hour-long videos on YouTube to tell his viewers about the alleged illegal acts of the politicians, especially Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu, before he was warned by Dubai authorities to refrain from shooting videos over security reasons.
