Turkish mafia leader’s ‘advisor’ meets with Gendarmerie General Commander

Ferhat Aydoğan, the “advisor” of notorious mafia leader Alaattin Çakıcı, announced that he visited the Gendarmerie General Commander General Arif Çetin in quake-hit Kahramanmaraş on March 13.

Ferhat Aydoğan, who is known as the “press advisor” of notorious mafia leader Alaattin Çakıcı, went to quake hit Kahramanmaraş on March 13 and met with Gendarmerie General Commander General Arif Çetin.

Aydoğan shared the photos taken after the meeting at the Gendarmerie Mobile Operations Command on his social media accounts.

Aydoğan wrote the following in his post: "We visited Mr. Arif Çetin, the General Commander of our gendarmerie organization, one of the valiant of your homeland, in Kahramanmaraş and thanked him for his selfless work in the disaster areas for 36 days."

Aydoğan deleted his post after reactions.

Following reactions, Aydoğan deleted his social media post. 

Aydoğan is known as the person who prepares the texts of e-mails sent by Çakıcı to journalists. 

Aydoğan has recently also paid a visit to Kahramanmaraş Governor Ömer Faruk Coşkun at the latter's office. 

In 2011, mafia leader Çakıcı was sentenced to one year and eight months for his letter containing insults and threats against main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu. He often targets the opposition with remarks on social media and has close ties with Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) leader Devlet Bahçeli.
