Seven suspects were detained in the Turkish capital Ankara in relation to Jabhat al-Nusra on May 26.

The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office issued detention warrants for 11 suspects, seven of whom were detained shortly after.

"Ankara Police's anti-terror teams are still working on the detention of the remaining suspects," said an official statement from the police.

The al-Nusra Front – established in Syria – has been classified by Turkey as a terrorist organization since 2014. It is currently operating under the name of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham.

A day earlier, police nabbed 16 ISIS suspects in an operation carried out in 11 provinces.

Another operation was carried out in the Central Anatolian province of Niğde on May 24, during which a Syrian ISIS suspect was detained.
