“My mother told me that a guard named İsmail had directly threatened her when she was being vaccinated,” Temizkan said.

What is more, she maintained that the deputy-director of the prison had prevented the guard from assaulting her mother and that her mother intended to file a criminal complaint about this incident.

“When I visited my mother, 6 or 7 guards accompanied her. Usually, there would only be one or two guards, so they aware of the threat my mother faces in the prison,” Temizkan added.

She also emphasized that her mother could not get access to the media outlets she wanted. “The newspapers Yeni Yaşam and Evrensel are not provided and some TV channels are also not permitted,” she said.
