Turkish municipality buries stray dogs alive after sedating them
The AKP-ran municipality of Konya's Sarayönü has buried sedated stray dogs alive, footage dated Oct . 25 showed. An eyewitness was able to record the burial of the sedated animals, where a dog was that was left awake is seen running away.

The Sarayönü Municipality of the Central Anatolian province of Konya, which is run by the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP), buried sedated stray dogs alive, footage showed.
An eyewitness recorded municipal workers dumping living, sedated dogs into a large hole in the ground on Oct. 25 inside the boundaries of a municipal construction site.
One of the dogs in the video is seen waking up from the sedation and running away, and the person recording the video is heard saying that the municipality did a similar burial the day before.
The Konya Bar Association Animal Rights Commission took action soon after the footage was released and filed criminal charges against the practice.
An investigation was launched into the incident.
