Yet another managerial change takes place in Turkish stats institute

Two deputy chiefs of the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) were dismissed from their posts and three deputy leaders were appointed, as managerial changes in the institution continue.
TÜİK has been under fire for the inconsistencies in its inflation and unemployment statistics for months, with critics saying that the institution tries to cover up the actual gravity of the economic crisis in the country.
Economist Uğur Gürses on July 3 said that the responsibilities of the sacked deputy chiefs were given to the newly-appointed ones.
"The issues related to national accounts, inflation and workforce were assigned to the newly-appointed ones. Will someone explain these changes?" Gürses asked on Twitter.
Treasury and Finance Minister Lütfi Elvan sacked TÜİK's deputy leaders and replaced them with Fatih Şahin, Yusuf Gökhan Özbakış and Tülay Korkmaz. Şahin and Özbakış, however, were sacked to be replaced with Umut Serhat İdman, Nurettin Kaya and Abdullah Yüksel.
This was followed by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's presidential decree, which removed the phrases on TÜİK being under the ministry and its head being under the minister. Elvan was subsequently removed from TÜİK Council.
