He is a graduate of Istanbul University, Political Sciences Faculty. He started journalism in 1994 as a reporter. He worked in newspapers such as Yeni Şafak, Son Çağrı, Yeni Ufuk, Tercüman, Radikal and Hürriyet. For some time, he was the founding editor of Kafkas Agency, working on Caucasian issues. He produced and presented foreign policy programs at İMC TV until it was closed. He is currently writing weekly columns for Gazete Duvar and Al Monitor. He has written three books.
