PodcastKurdish theater festival kicks off in eastern Turkey
ŞanoWan Theater Festival in Turkey's eastern province of Van has started. The festival’s program includes 10 plays, eight in Kurdish and two in Turkish, over a period of eight days.

Third ŞanoWan Theater Festival kicked off in Turkey’s eastern province of Van on Sept. 23.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the festival, theater player Ferhat Aslan said 10 plays will be staged in the festival’s program, eight in Kurdish and two in Turkish.
Aslan said their aim is to stage and develop Kurdish theater in all cities and that the interest shown for the festival from the first day made them so happy.
The festival started with “Hayat Seni Çok Seviyorum” (Life I Love You So Much) play, written by İlhan Sami Çomak who has been in jail since 1994.
The festival will end on Sept. 30.
