A man has been arrested for sexually harassing a Colombian woman in the southeastern province of Urfa.

The woman, whose identity wasn't disclosed, arrived in Turkey with her friend for her dissertation and had been staying at a house they rented through an online rental company.

The owner of the house was the also owner of a beauty shop in the same building and invited the Colombian student for skincare. The woman said that she accepted the invitation in exchange for painting one of the walls.

The man sexually harassed her in the shop, Urfa Bar Association said on Nov. 13.

The woman, alongside her friend, met with two lawyers from the bar association and they filed a complaint. The man was subsequently arrested on Nov. 14.
