Police officers have battered children and called them "traitors" during a raid on a house in the Kurdish majority southeastern province of Batman, Mesopotamia Agency reported on Nov. 28.
Police raided the house of journalist Dilbirin Turgut and reportedly pointed guns at everyone in the house, including children, and called everyone "terrorists and traitors."
Turgut said that her 13-year-old sibling had a nervous breakdown out of fear and that she was prevented by police when she wanted to calm them down.
The reason for the raid remains unknown and no one was detained.
Pro-Kurdish Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) deputy Ayşe Acar Başaran visited Turgut's family, who said that they will take the incident to the Human Rights Association (İHD).
