The Ankara branch of Turkish Health Workers' Union (SES) has said that there are currently approximately 50,000 coronavirus patients in the capital, 3,500 of whom are receiving treatment at hospitals. The SES based this figure on the number of patients each family physician in the capital is monitoring for suspected coronavirus infection.
Turkish police fired plastic bullets and teargas on a crowd at a union protest for the layoffs of three health workers in the southeastern province of Batman, who were sacked for being union members. Police also detained eight persons, six of whom were union officials.

The health care union SES has announced that it will take Turkey's social security agency SGK to the court over its decision not to classify Covid-19 as a work accident or occupational disease.
